3-10-2017 The Cross Of Christ, Not Circumcision

“As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ” (Galatians 6:12 NKJV).  There are people who preach religious practices from Moses just to avoid being persecuted for following Christ. God required fleshly circumcision from Abraham through Moses, but now has changed to a new covenant. “Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law” (Galatians 5:2-3 NKJV). Keeping Moses Law, whether 10 Commandments or circumcision, makes Jews, not Christians! “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anytshing, but a new creation” (Galatians 6:15 NKJV).  “If righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain” (Galatians 2:21 NKJV).

3-4-2015    Can Moses’ Law Save Today?

God’s Word plainly shows no law before Jesus Christ’s Law was intended to save. “For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe” (Galatians 3:21-22 NKJV). The Law of Moses can save no one today, for “if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain” (Galatians 2:21 NKJV). To keep the Law of Moses today, severs one from obedience to Christ. “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace” (Galatians 5:4 NKJV). It is either Moses or Christ, but not both! The Gospel saves, not 10 commandments!

3-3-2015   Today’s Jews Are Not God’s Chosen People

In Antioch of Pisidia, Paul preached Jesus Christ: “through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39 NKJV). “The law of Moses” was given only to the Israelites (Deuteronomy 5:2-3) and only until Jesus Christ came: “[the Law] was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made” (Galatians 3:19 NKJV). That promised “Seed” is Christ (Galatians 3:16). Concerning Moses’ Law, Jesus “has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” (Colossians 2:14). Since Jesus’ death, none of the Jews can claim to be God’s Chosen People. God said, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Luke 9:35 NKJV).

Does not John 14:6 handle this?

    • John T. Polk II 11:12 pm on 2015-03-08 Permalink | Reply

It should. Unfortunately many seem to think Jesus is a temporary approach to God, but that the Jews are still God’s chosen people! Being “Christian” to them is optional, and the church of Christ to be rejected. I strive to “speak plainly.”
