World: each person creates own moral standard, others must tolerate it

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, [You must not eat from any tree in the garden]’?” Genesis 3:1.

In Joseph Fletcher’s 1966 book, Situation Ethics, he advocated “evaluat[ing] acts in light of their situational context rather than by the application of moral absolutes.” This was just a step away from what the world advocates today: that each person creates his own standard of morality, and everyone else must tolerate it.
