Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Members of Congress, the Cabinet, the honorable Justices of the Supreme Court, the Joint Chiefs, honored guests, ladies and gentlemen.
The state of our brotherhood in Christ is exactly how Jesus described it in Matthew 13:24ff. There are the members who are like the good crop sown into the field, and there are the tares. There is positive news, however. There will be a harvest.
“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father,” (Matthew 13:43a). May God hasten that day.
A SKEWED perspective. In east central Illinois we have conservative (mainstream) and not so much. Those who of the “not so much” category keep an eye on the rest of us. The rest of us (I guess about 2/3 of the congregations) continue to work in our little part of the world doing what we can. We do what we can to maintain Ephesians 4:1-3, but refuse to openly support efforts that are contrary to the Lord and His church. However, we are in other parts of the world with our mission efforts, but in the entirely one-sided perspective (that is probably not very balanced), this is what I see. A lot of that, though, is that I don’t try to stay up with the many areas and issues that others have to. What I know, is because I was asked about it or, perhaps, I came across it in reading a periodical.
