God delivered the Israelites from Egyptian slavery, leading them through Moses. “By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land” (Hebrews 11:29 NKJV). The Apostle Paul said they “all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea” (1 Corinthians 10:2 NKJV). But they refused to enter the Promised Land, and rebelled against God. Concerning those “twenty years old and above” (Numbers 14:29), God swore “that they would not enter His rest…who did not obey…So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief” (Hebrews 3:18-19 NKJV). (1) No one was saved without being baptized; (2) Baptized believers could become unbelievers; (3) “Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience” (Hebrews 4:11 NKJV). No “once-saved-always saved” here!
