I Timothy 2:1-2 First of all then I…

I Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I exhort that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
Romans 13:1, 5 Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but of God; the authorities that exist are ordained by God…Therefore, you must be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience’s sake.
I Peter 2:13-14 Then be in obedience to every ordinance of men, because of the Lord, whether to a king as supreme, or to governors as sent by Him for vengeance on evildoers, but for praise on welldoers.
I Peter 2:17 Honor all. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

Given the clear teaching from the Scriptures above, why do I continue to get e-mails from Christians that, to say the least, are not complimentary to the current President? Is he worse than Nero or Caligula, who were rulers when the Scriptures were given? If the first-century Christians were commanded to honor them, are we not to follow the same Scriptures? I have repented and no longer forward those e-mails. Am I the only Christian who was guilty? Just a thought.
