On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:37-39 ESV)
O LORD my God, the One who made earth and all the universe ~ we worship and adore you dear heavenly Father, for the way you care about the poor widows and orphans and punish those who trust in their own wicked schemes which will all come to an abrupt end. Open the eyes of all people of faith in your word, so that we will all consider what the Scriptures plainly teach about the gift of your Spirit that was promised in Peter’s sermon on Pentecost so that all faithful Christians will speak as one in faith and action. Bless the hands and feet of those who carry the Gospel message to all the world. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
