Did you know that there are three types of people in this world: those that are good at math and those that are not? Clearly this is intended to be humorous yet often times we can group people in two groups. Usually it will depend on the subject being talked about. For instance, in religion there are two types of people; those that are for Jesus and those that are against Him.
Our Lord Himself came up with those two groups. At some point, the apostles rebuked a man for casting out demons because he was not part of the group following Jesus. Yet upon hearing this, Jesus said to them, “Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us” (Luke 9:50). To successfully cast out demons, one had to have faith and approval of God.
Once the disciples had tried to cast out a demon out of a man’s son but were unsuccessful in their attempt. Jesus cast out the demon and told the disciples they could not because of their unbelief (Matt. 17:14-21). In another instance, “vagabond Jews, exorcists” in attempting to cast out a demon not only failed in the attempt but were answered by the demon: “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” (Acts 19:13-16). Both faith and approval of God are required to do His work.
There are today still two types of people in the world; those that have been saved and those that have not. This is the same as saying that the two types are those who have been baptized for the remission of sins and those that have not (Mark 16:16). Which group to you belong to?
