Paul defends himself against accusations that he is being equivocal in his communications and, hence, dishonest. He appeals to his directness and clarity as proof.
Scripture can be understood. Those who apply themselves can know what it says, even though removed from the original setting. Am I throwing up barriers (excuses?) to comprehension?
