It is not easy to see what role a member of the body of Christ might play in the spread of the gospel. It may not be easy to see, but that a role is served Paul makes clear when he writes to the Philippians that he is very pleased with the role they played. For instance, they were partners with him in the gospel, as he preached the word. More than that, even though he was in prison Paul considered not only himself as “partaker of grace” but also the Philippians because of their support of him. There are many who play varied roles in the spread of the Lord’s word, and it is important that we encourage each in their varied roles.
