We simply went silent

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (2 Corinthians 4:6-7 ESV)

Almighty God, our dear Heavenly Father ~ thank you, Lord, for this wonderful new day you have given to us along with the necessary provisions we need for today’s journey of faith. Help every faithful Christian to realize our personal responsibility to let the light of Christ Jesus shine in all our daily affairs. Forgive us, Lord, for the times when we have overlooked opportunities you have provided, but we simply went silent. Remind us, again and again, Lord that we must demonstrate our faith in the power of the gospel message that is changing us each day as we obey Christ as Lord in word and deed. Use us to your glory even while we are broken jars of clay. Suppress the critical voices of servants of Satan who attempt to shame your messengers. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
