What Weylan wrote is good enough to steal: “The spiritual man is one with his mind engaged in matters of the soul.”
Being “spiritual” means having a mind focused on spiritual things. Instead of concentrating on job, money, position or power, the spiritual mind focuses on things that are important to God.
Since God is spirit (John 4:24) his mind is focused on spiritual things, not material ones. God is keenly interested in his children, but if we think that he is going to manifest his love toward us by making us rich, then we’re thinking of him as a material father, not a spiritual one.
Focusing on spiritual things means thinking on God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and what they consider important. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth, for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God,” (Colossians 3:1-3).
