Ours has been styled a restoration movement, because we seek to restore the faith and practice of the Way to the pattern given in the NT. There is evidence in both Testaments for restoration. In the New, we have Jesus going back to the origin of marriage to reestablish the proper grounds for lifetime commitment, and Paul restoring the Lord’s supper in Corinth by going back to the establishment of that church practice by the Lord himself.
Congregations are always in a state of movement, either backward or forward. Sometimes they veer from the path in certain areas. So the Daily Nudge asks today: what still needs restoring in our (or, in some) communities today, as you see it?
Since it’s past midnight in my part of the world, I’m going to sleep on the question and come at it tomorrow.
