When courts in Nashville get backed up, a local tradition allows judges to appoint local attorneys to act as “special judges” to help clear dockets. But according to an investigation by WTVF-TV, it appears that some of “special judges” use their power largely to dismiss speeding tickets. Of 1,800 speeding tickets dismissed by courts during the investigation, 1,300 were thrown out by the “special judges.” I’m glad I’ve not yet had to stand before a judge, but if I do, maybe I’ll get one of those “special judges”. I do know that I will one day stand before a Judge and He is special and I already know the case against me will be thrown out. How do I know? Because the judge is my elder brother and He has already told me the outcome. This is Just-A-Minute
