When one becomes a Christian,…

When one becomes a Christian, what does God expect? First, God expects each Christian, including the new Christian, to put Him first above everything else in life (Matthew 22:34-40). God will not allow Himself to be placed under some other interest. God expects His child to make a habit of hearing Him in daily reading of His word (Luke 6:46; John 12:48). How can one grow if there is no spiritual nourishment given and digested? Then, God expects each Christian to meet together with other saints for the purpose of 1) worship the Almighty, 2) their own spiritual encouragement, 3) to encourage others in their own spiritual walk (Hebrews 10:19-25). There are many who have been baptized with of anticipation of receiving the forgiveness of their sins. However, as they think of themselves as being saved, but have not put the Lord first their life, they are lost still. (A random thought generated at CBI, Columbia, TN)
