It’s a wonderful thing to have individuals visit the services of the church. It’s a privilege to have them as our guest. And as a guest nothing more is asked of them other than to ask questions if they so desire. But it seems as if there is some confusion by some within the church as to the difference between the responsibility of a member and the responsibility of a guest. This isn’t a new question, but when it comes to attending worship and Bible study and our overall lifestyle, we must ask if we’re only at the services or are we actually apart of the body, for there is a world of a difference between the two. So where are you sitting – in the pews or in the body, and are you sure about that?
“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
