“For this is God’s will: that you become holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality, that each of you know how to possess his own body in holiness and honor, not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.”
1 Thessalonians 4.3-5
These Christians were wonderful examples of faith and love. Paul urged them to grow even more, since they had before them the commandments, given by Jesus’ authority, vv. 1-3. Rejection of them meant rejection of God, v. 8.
Knowing God’s will is not a matter of reading signs in events or seeking divine guidance in daily events, but in knowing the commandments from the Word that has already been revealed. In other words, read the Bible!
