Wiped clean

And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:11-13 ESV)

Dear loving God, our kind and merciful Heavenly Father ~ thank you for awakening our passions for honoring your beloved Son as our only true Savior who took our sins upon himself when he suffered that awful death on the cruel cross at Golgotha. Help us to open our doors of hospitality and our hearts of common acceptance to those who do not yet know that the slate listing our sins and theirs is wiped clean by your awe-inspiring grace as we trust and obey Christ as Lord. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
