Wisdom to see ourselves

Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. (Proverbs 14:31 NIV)

Кто притесняет бедных, тот презирает Творца их, а добрый к нуждающимся чтит Бога. (Притчи 14:31 Russian NRT)

Merciful and kind Father in heaven ~ thank you Lord for the invigorating gift of life that stirs up our minds to think more clearly than ever before. Give us wisdom so that we will be able to see ourselves as others see us and most of all how you view our thoughts and behavior. Grant us courage along with generous hearts so that we will not overlook doing good for the poor who are not in a position to do anything of like kind in return. Open our eyes to see the needs of poor widows and orphan children right here in our own midst so that we will do some extravagant thing that will provide them aid and comfort. Forgive us dear Father for the times when we failed to pay attention to the cries for help from those whom you love. In the precious name of Jesus our Helper and Friend, Amen.
